Socioepistemology by Ricardo Cantoral
Introduction. I present "Socioepistemology", which is a new Mathematics Education theory, through its origins and evolution. This is a long lasting research program: The Socioepistemological Program of Mathematics Education. Socioepistemology as a system of thought studies mathematical thinking among the general population, it is a theory with empirically tested constructs. Under the socioepistemological viewpoint all forms of thought have validity, be it among the general population, technical communities, or educated mathematicians, since all of them together, comprise human wisdom. Other contemporary approaches examine only one of the forms of knowing.
